I am not an expert, but hopefully I can help someone else who is struggling. I have come far in my recovery, but I still have some habits I need to break and some fear foods I need to get over. What I do when I conquer a fear food is eat it, but I eat it in excess. Some may consider this excessive or binge eating; however, this it what seems to work for me. By eating the food in a larger quantity my mind grasps the idea that eating the food won’t make me balloon up or gain ten pounds overnight. The next time I have the food I will generally have a more reasonable portion because I have no longer deprived myself. I hope this makes sense and I’m not just rambling…anyways ^^^ This is me after eating what had to be over a pint of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce and marshmallows. Keep fighting. I promise you it is worth it.
